Kevin, Montana is in northern Montana. For me it is on the way to my families farm and ranch. Along with Kevin is Oilmont, both old oil field remains. Kevin is in Toole County 25 miles south of the Canadian border on I-15. The town was named after Thomas Kevin, superintendent of the Alberta Railway & Irrigation Company.

Many of the small town post offices are being closed due to financial concerns. Living on a Montana farm and ranch can mean mail comes three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. All other days for postal business is 40 mile

s away. The Methodist church in Kevin is still functional. A pastor from a local area, which means up to 90 miles away will preach at the church, probably not every Sunday.
Cecil's Pub is located west off I-15 (using exit 379) on the corner of 1st and Front. Cecil's Pub is closed, little information was available on the history of this Main Street Pub. I am certain that at
one point this was the gathering place in town. If only the walls of this building could talk.

one point this was the gathering place in town. If only the walls of this building could talk. There is agrain elevator located west of Kevin on Highway 215 and was built by local men. Emile Habets built the elevator for personal use and his grain was loaded from the elevator into the train cars to be shipped. The elevator not functional for years stands tall.
Today the town has building that are vacant, leaving behind a few homes and families. To date approximately 200 people live in Kevin. Most of the oil business is gone, with just a few ponies pumping oil. Gas pipe lines are pumping natural gas from the fields of northern Montana to local storage sites.
Wheat fields form the perimeter of the town. Farmers still reside in the town traveling to their farms. Kevin and Toole County are primarily a farming and
